June 2012 - Eddie Myers named the Director of Sales & Marketing at the Holiday Inn & Suites Across from Universal Orlando®

August 2011 - J.D. Powers names Holiday Inn and Hotel Indigo No. 1 in Hotel Guest Satisfaction.  Holiday Inn and Hotel Indigo have just been named best in customer satisfaction, by consumer experts J.D. Power and Associates. Their 2011 North American Hotel Guest Satisfaction Index Study ranked Hotel Indigo No. 1 among upscale brands, beating out Hyatt Place and Aloft Hotels, while Holiday Inn took top honors for the mid-scale, full-service category, beating out competitors such as Best Western and Ramada.

Winning these awards is something we can all take pride in. Rankings like this demonstrate we're making our brands stand out in the marketplace and driving consumer preference – all part of our plan to become one of the world's great companies by creating Great Hotels Guests Love. They're also a way to recognize the outstanding work being done each and every day by our owners, our colleagues in our corporate offices and on the front lines at our hotels. They're all doing a fantastic job creating a unique guest experience that will keep our guests coming back and telling their friends and families about us.

October 2010 - Holiday Inn & Suites Across from Universal Orlando® has just completed a major renovation, one of the most significant changes to the hotel since it opened in 1971.

The renovation shows the hotel's commitment to maintaining Orlando's image as a world-class destination, even during these troubled economic times.
Inside, in an effort to provide guests with an elevated overall experience, each room was completely modernized with new carpeting and fresh coats of paint.  Coordinating with the Resort's overall Amusement Theme, the guestrooms also received new artwork, lighting, draperies, furniture as well as new bedding and bath signature linen. The guestroom's bathrooms were also enhanced by the renovation.  New bathtubs, toilets and sinks were installed in each of the bathrooms in the Standard Deluxe Rooms along with new tile.  All bathrooms received new lighting fixtures, Moen Shower Heads and Signature Shower Curtains on modern Curved Rods. 
All Sleeping Rooms now feature new furniture, carpet, paint, artwork, lighting, 32” flat-panel televisions with High Definition Programming, and complimentary high speed wired internet. 
Outside the hotel, visitors will notice a more modern look of large tinted windows, replacing the sliding doors and balconies of one wing, along with traditional architectural enhancements over the entire structure that now define the look of the hotel.  New exterior lighting, landscaping and new signage was also added as part of IHG's Global Re-Launch Program.
In addition, a kid's friendly play area was added to the pool area complete with splash zone and interactive water features.

By completing this renovation project we have added to that experience and created an overall vacationing experience that will truly be one to remember."
